Robert Engelhorn, Ph.D.

Robert Engelhorn, Ph.D., became the eighth president of BMW Manufacturing in 2021, and has been with the company since 2011. His previous positions with the company included leading the technology and production divisions for the Dadong and Tiexi BMW plants, and as director for BMW Group Plant Munich. The Upstate BMW plant employs more than 11,000 people and manufactures more than 1,500 vehicles per day. Engelhorn serves on the boards of Autos Drive America and the German American Chambers of Commerce.
