After graduating from Clemson University in 2023, I immediately joined Katie Harrison to help build what would become KVH. What started as a two-person team has grown into a full-service agency of 19 talented women in just three years, providing social media, marketing, public relations, and event services to businesses across the Upstate. Being part of that growth from the very beginning has been one of the most rewarding experiences.  As director of marketing, I lead our social media team, oversee client strategy, help cultivate new partnerships, and guide our hiring efforts as we continue to expand. While I'm incredibly proud of the work we've accomplished for our clients, what I'm most proud of is the culture we've built along the way. Our team is truly the heart of KVH. Watching our team grow, support one another, and bring so much creativity and passion to what we do has been one of my favorite parts of this journey.

Definition of a Successful Leader: To me, a successful leader is someone who doesn’t just focus on their own success, but invests in the growth and success of the people around them. I believe one of the most important parts of leadership is listening, truly understanding your team, valuing their ideas, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their perspectives. The best leaders recognize that they don’t have all the answers and that the strongest teams are built when everyone feels empowered to contribute and grow together.

Advice for 18-Year-Old Self: I would tell 18-year-old Kate to be confident in the path ahead, even when I didn’t have everything figured out. It’s easy to feel pressure to have a perfect plan, but some of the best opportunities come from being willing to take risks, say yes to new experiences, and learn along the way.
