Hotel Hartness has been named to the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hotels in the USA list, earning a coveted Gold Badge and top rankings at the national, state, and local levels.

Among 3,968 hotels ranked nationwide, Hotel Hartness placed No. 243 overall, ranked No. 12 in South Carolina, and was named No. 1 Best Hotel in Greenville.

According to U.S. News & World Report, more than 30,000 hotels are evaluated worldwide, ranking the best properties across the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean based on reputation among travel experts, guest reviews, and hotel class ratings.

Of the hotels ranked in the United States, only 927 properties received the Gold Badge distinction, placing Hotel Hartness among the top tier of hotels nationwide.

“Being recognized by U.S. News & World Report is incredibly meaningful because it reflects both expert opinion and the real experiences of our guests,” said Michael Bonasia, director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Hartness. “This acknowledgment validates the intentional approach we’ve taken, from service and design to programming and partnerships, and reinforces Hartness as a destination that resonates well beyond Greenville.”

Located just outside downtown Greenville, Hotel Hartness is a 73-room boutique hotel set within the planned Hartness community.

Once the private estate of the Hartness family, the property has been reimagined to preserve its legacy while offering a refined, modern guest experience rooted in Southern hospitality, wellness, and a strong sense of place.

“For our family, Hartness has always been about stewardship of the land, the history, and the community,” said Sean Hartness, CEO of Hartness Development. “To see Hotel Hartness recognized on a national stage while also being named the best hotel in Greenville is incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to what’s possible when long-term vision and care guide every decision.”

Positioned along South Highway 14 between Pelham and Woodruff Roads, the hotel sits on Greenville’s growing urban edge, just minutes from the Interstate 85 corridor — only 10 miles from downtown and five miles from GSP Airport.
