As voters across Greenville County prepare to head to the polls on Nov. 3, 2026, the Greenville County Republican Party will hold a public Town Hall Thursday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Library in Greer.
The event, titled "Is It Really a Penny?" aims to dissect the true financial cost, transparency concerns, legal fee allocations, and long-term consequences of the proposed $1.1 billion sales tax referendum.
Radio hosts Bill Frady from 98.9 WORD, will serve as moderator. The panel will include:
• Garey Collins and Kelly Long – Greenville County Council members
• Joe Dill – Greenville County Council GOP nominee
• Joe Farmer – chairman, Greenville County Board of Tax Appeals
• Jeff Davis – chairman, Greenville County Republican Party.
The panel will examine the true scope of the $1.1 billion referendum, including hidden transaction costs, $150 million in new debt, transparency concerns, and whether allocations like $77 million for greenbelts and $30 million for expanded mass transit reflect voter priorities.
