The Falls Park Conference District, featuring a “uniquely Greenville” conference center, an adjacent hotel and surrounding mixed-use buildings, will become a landmark destination for meeting attendees, residents, and the broader Greenville community. The project represents a significant City Council achievement and an important investment in the continued vitality of downtown Greenville.
On Oct. 15, 2026, the Design Review Board will consider the site plans, height, scale, and connectivity to ensure the project aligns with Greenville’s vision for a vibrant, accessible downtown.
Located adjacent to Falls Park and bounded by Falls Street, Calvin Street, Vivian Street, Webster Street and East Camperdown Way, the conference center aims to seamlessly integrate with the city’s urban landscape and its signature park.
"This will be more than a conventional conference center; it will transform our community for decades to come. Designed as an adaptive space for conference-goers and residents alike, the project will create a seamless connection to Falls Park, expand public green space, and strengthen the connection between downtown and one of Greenville’s most cherished natural assets,” said Mayor Knox White.
The application submitted to the Design Review Board includes comprehensive site plans, elevations, and sections, showcasing the project’s ambition to enhance connectivity, walkability, and open space in downtown Greenville.
Conference Center: Featuring a grand ballroom (30,000 square feet), junior ballroom (12,000 square feet), multiple pre-function spaces, and conference lobby areas.
Hotel: A multi-story hotel offering sweeping views and luxury accommodations.
Multifamily Residential: Integrated residential buildings with dedicated lobby and amenity spaces.
Office Towers: Two office buildings, each with its own lobby and pre-function areas.
Retail Spaces: Street-accessible retail distributed across the lower levels.
Parking Garage: A 1,250-stall garage hidden behind the public-facing conference center and retail experience.
Open Park & Tenant Spaces: A nearly one-acre landscaped and amenitized green space extending from Camperdown and Falls Park
“Our vision is shaped by the idea that great design should welcome people in. Curved glass, softened edges, and natural materials create a sense of movement and connection, while thoughtfully designed gateways and gathering spaces invite people into the park. The result is a design that feels open, welcoming and human-scaled, rather than intimidating or overwhelming,” said City Manager Shannon Lavrin.
Architect KJ Jacobs, who submitted the Design Review Board application alongside master developer The Furman Company, said the design is intended to create a stronger connection between the development and the surrounding downtown.
“The office towers and hotels are scaled to align with the surrounding buildings, while walkability, thoughtful landscaping, and transparency at street level help create a more engaging experience,” said Jacobs. “We aren’t just shaping buildings; we’re shaping experiences. This design approach reinforces our belief that every project should strengthen connections, encourage exploration and celebrate the unique character of Greenville.”
