As senior director of marketing and communications for Greenville Pro Soccer, Vanessa Gongora leads brand strategy, media, and community relations for the Greenville Triumph and Liberty, helping expand the club’s reach and deepen its connection across the Upstate. She brings more than 15 years of experience from leadership roles at Time Inc./Meredith, Condé Nast, and New York Magazine, with expertise in content strategy and multicultural audiences. Previously, at Norsan Media South Carolina, she led bilingual campaigns connecting brands with Hispanic communities.
Leadership is doing what's right even when no one's watching. I'll share my opinion, even when I might be wrong — that's how real trust gets built. My greatest strength is connecting people — communities with meaningful experiences, brands with audiences that matter. That's what drew me to Greenville Pro Soccer. Soccer isn't just a ball — it's a worldwide promise of access, hope, and dreams. And this club lives that out in ways most people haven't seen yet. The Unified team, the school partnerships, the way this organization shows up every single day — I feel so blessed to help bring that story to light.
The importance of adaptability. Media and marketing have evolved dramatically over my career, and the professionals who succeed are the ones willing to grow with it — continuously learning, adjusting, and embracing change. That mindset has been especially important at Greenville Pro Soccer, a fast-growing organization where there’s constant opportunity to evolve, strengthen community connections, and find new ways to engage audiences in meaningful ways.
