Three Companies Retain Top Spots in Top Workplaces Survey

The No. 1 company among large businesses, those with 300 or more employees, is Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner REALTORS. Ranked No. 1 among midsize companies, businesses with 150-299 employees, is Pinnacle Financial Partners, and No. 1 among small companies, those with 149 or fewer employees in the region, is Creative Builders Inc.
In addition, Pinnacle Financial Partners received the special award for Managers. Among the comments from employees about their managers: “My leader is fully engaged, and truly cares about me as a person and an employee. They want me to be happy and successful,” and “She is interested in our life outside of work. She knows us well. And always works with us for certain situations that may come up to best accommodate us.”
Here are some facts about each of the top three companies:
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner REALTORS: Real estate brokerage founded in 1964 and headquartered in Greenville. Nine South Carolina locations with a total of 459 employees. It has been ranked in the Top Workplaces survey for seven consecutive years.
Pinnacle Financial Partners: Commercial bank founded in 2000 with U.S. headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. Twenty-three locations with 221 employees in South Carolina, 2,885 employees total. It has been ranked in Top Workplaces for five consecutive years. Pinnacle has increased its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts recently, according to company officials. DEI initiatives include increased recruitment efforts, adding more diverse team members to Leadership Learning Committees, and developing Diversity and Inclusion Councils to execute DEI strategies in the local market.
Creative Builders Inc.: General contractor in commercial, multifamily, medical, financial, and upfits, founded in 1971 and headquartered in Greenville. Two South Carolina locations with 95 employees. It has been ranked in the Top Workplaces survey for seven consecutive years. Company officials say that employees have an average of 15 years of service, and that “employees are willing to make personal sacrifices to meet the company’s objectives.”
