The American Society of Media Photographers will present the 2022 Southeastern Film and Photo Conference Feb. 24-26 in Charleston.
The event, which will be held at Trident Tech in North Charleston, opens with a keynote address by Lauren Greenfield, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and photographer. Greenfield’s latest film, 2019’s “The Kingmaker,” profiles Imelda Marcos, former first lady of the Philippines.
She will discuss how she founded a production company, Girl Culture Films, to address the shortage of women directors in advertising.
Greenfield will speak at 5 p.m. Feb. 24.
Friday’s speakers will include Thomas Maddrey, ASMP’s general counsel and head of national content and education; photographer Lou Jones; and writer-photographer Elia Locardi.
On Saturday, the schedule features addresses by photographer Johnny Andrews, whose projects include “Life and Hip-Hop” and “Holding Out for a Hero”; artist Monica Stevenson; and Cecil Williams, founder of the Cecil Williams South Carolina Civil Rights Museum.
Conference hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 and 26.
