Tindall To Provide Precast Concrete For Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Parking Deck

Tindall Corporation's South Carolina Division will provide precast concrete components for a new parking structure that adjoins the new 725 room hotel and convention center expansion at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, North Carolina. The project is set to begin in March 2019.
“This structure will provide our convention center, hotel, and casino guests with enhanced service and convenience,” said Zeke Cooper, director of business development at DreamCatcher Hotels. “The Tindall team is helping us take the facility to the next level by creating a functional precast structure built for the continued success of the resort.”
The parking
garage will include valet and public parking spaces for guests, as well as a
loading/unloading and staging area to service the resort’s new ballroom/exhibit
hall and hotel tower. The structure will total more than 823,000 square feet with
2,646 parking spaces. More than 683,000 square feet of the deck will be elevated
precast floor area.
“The Tindall team is excited to have the
opportunity to partner with our customers in North Carolina, especially in an
area with so much historical and cultural significance as the home of the Eastern Band of
Cherokee Indians,” said Carl Clary, technical sales representative at Tindall’s South Carolina Division. “We believe that this parking
structure will serve as a valuable addition to the resort with its unique
requirements and features.”
This
precast structure’s construction will be both challenging and complex to
develop due to the site’s unique position to archaeologically significant
landmarks. The structure will be laid out in strategic locations to coordinate
with these regions.
Tindall’s
South Carolina Division is partnering with Finfrock, which will provide general
construction, architect, and engineer of record services on this project. It was
apparent early in the development process that precast concrete was the best
solution for the project’s schedule and scope. Precast concrete offers a
significantly faster completion time and durability than cast-in-place concrete,
decreases risk of weather delays and lost productivity claims, and allows for
faster occupancy for less cost.
