Bosch Expanding Anderson County Operations

Dec 05, 2018 10:22AM ● By Kathleen Maris

Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, is expanding its existing Anderson County operations. To accommodate the company’s continued growth, Bosch is investing an additional $45 million.

Employing approximately 402,000 associates worldwide, Bosch is a leading Internet of Things company that offers innovative solutions for smart homes, smart cities, connected mobility, and connected manufacturing. Its strategic objective is to deliver innovations for a connected life. With its sales and service partners, Bosch’s global manufacturing, engineering, and sales network covers nearly every country in the world.

Located at 4421 S.C. Highway 81 in Anderson, S.C., the company’s Anderson County expansion will include new manufacturing capabilities to support the portfolio of its Mobility Solutions business sector in North America. Bosch is purchasing an adjacent property previously occupied by a Bosch joint venture.

The Bosch Anderson facility was founded in 1985 to produce fuel rails and has added production capabilities from a number of Bosch divisions that span many areas of the vehicle – including Powertrain Solutions, Automotive Electronics, and Car Multimedia. The facility currently employs more than 1,200 associates.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $100,000 Set Aside grant to Anderson County to assist with the costs of site preparation and building construction.

“We have a rich history in South Carolina, and this expansion helps us to further serve our North American customers from the strong base we’ve built in the state,” said Mike Mansuetti, Bosch in North America president. “We are very proud of another milestone in our relationship with Anderson County and the state of South Carolina.”
