Greenville Technical College’s Economic Development and Corporate Training Division recently received a 2019 International Award for Best Business and Industry from the Learning Resources Network (LERN). LERN is the world’s largest association in continuing education and lifelong learning.

The award recognized three of the division’s initiatives. The Corporate Training Partnership Program, a way for companies to plan training and professional development for their employees on an annual basis, allows business leaders to maintain a well-trained workforce. A Culinary Team Building Program utilizes chefs from the college’s Culinary Institute of the Carolinas who lead organizational work groups in experiences that build relationships among the team members. A suite of business-to-business corporate training materials that support program development and serve as a sales kit was also part of the winning nomination.

Greenville Technical College's Economic Development and Corporate Training Division is committed to providing sustainable solutions to individual and corporate partners and is a catalyst for personal, corporate, and economic growth in Greenville County. Last year, more than 350 Greenville County companies and more than 16,000 students utilized the Economic Development and Corporate Training division for innovative learning.

Glenn Templeton, director of Employer Services; Jennifer Moorefield, EDCT associate vice president; and Lisa Thornton, EDCT marketing representative, accepted the award on behalf of the college at LERN’s annual conference held in November in Savannah, Ga.
