Nov 14, 2017 03:26PM ● By Kathleen Maris

The Greenville Chamber presented Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP (DHG) with the 2017 ATHENA Organizational Leadership Award for its commitment to increasing the positive impact of women’s leadership in our community. The fourth annual award was presented at the Chamber’s sixth annual ATHENA Leadership Symposium sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina on November 14, 2017.

DHG ranks among the top 20 public accounting firms in the nation. With more than 2,000 professionals in 13 states, they combine deep experience with a strong commitment to personal service. DHG draws on their extensive resources to combine comprehensive assurance, tax and advisory services.

DHG creates an organizational culture that encourages women employees to achieve their full leadership potential by recruiting, developing, retaining, and advancing women in their firm, as well as supporting women in the broader community. Women Forward is one initiative the firm executes. The initiative seeks to address the major barriers women face and directly supports the five key elements of the DHG strategy: performance, talent, leadership, growth, and service. Women Forward focuses on skill building opportunities, sponsorship, advocacy and cultural integration. Ultimately, Women Forward helps ensure women have the tools and resources necessary to be successful.

Through DHG’s Women Forward initiative, the firm also hosts several market-facing events designed to bring women in business together to share valuable knowledge about the many layers of challenges women face, and how to overcome or put aside those challenges.

Carlos Phillips, Greenville Chamber president and CEO, says, “Dixon Hughes Goodman is setting the standard for support and development of women leaders. We are proud to honor this exceptional company and grateful for the impact their team is having on our community.”
