The Rutherford, an event space located at 520 Rutherford Rd. between Poinsett Highway and North Main Street, opened in August. Owner Yasha Patel hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce on Wed., August 23 and a grand opening party on Wed., August 30.

The Rutherford has hosted signature events that include Euphoria’s “Tapas and Tinis” as well as Greenville Business Magazine’s Corporate Tuesday networking event.

“My goal is for The Rutherford to become the center of celebration for Greenville,” Patel said. “I grew up in the hospitality business, assisting in the hotels my family managed. Now, I am carrying on that tradition by using those gifts for Greenville. I hope that all experiences here can be all that my clients want it to be and more. We are so excited that all our hard work finally paid off and can’t wait to provide a space for all of life’s special moments.”

Patel renovated a 1950s-era building into a multi-space venue totaling more than 10,000 square feet. The Rutherford is comprised of three stand-alone spaces that can be rented individually or together, for flexible event party scaling:

·      The Brick Room—An upper level, indoor space measuring 2,800 square feet with brick walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, an exposed wood beam ceiling, and restored heart pine floors.

·      The Warehouse—A lower level, indoor space measuring 2,200 square feet with brick walls, hardwood columns, an exposed wood beam ceiling, and glass overhead doors opening to an outdoor veranda and courtyard.

·      The Veranda and Courtyard—A 1,150 square foot covered veranda with an outdoor entertainment space of approximately 4,000 square feet enclosed with a privacy fence.
