WYFF 4's Chronicle Examines South Carolina's Role in the American Revolution

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, WYFF 4 examines South Carolina’s important role in the American Revolution on Chronicle: Legacy of Liberty, airing at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2. From key battles to crucial assistance from Indigenous people, African Americans and women, the Chronicle team shares stories of courage and how history is being preserved for future generations. “South Carolina was at the center of the fight for independence,” said Blake Bridges, WYFF 4 president and general manager. “Our team has traveled throughout the state to bring these important stories to life. We feel it’s important to remember all the brave individuals who fought for the freedom we still enjoy 250 years later.”

“Chronicle: Legacy of Liberty” features local stories told by WYFF News 4’s Nigel Robertson, Sydney Shadrix, Carol Clarke, Peyton Furtado, Caitlin Ashbaugh, Leah Phillips and Stephanie Trotter. WYFF News 4’s nationally acclaimed anchor Jane Robelot hosts the special and contributes a story. In addition to airing live on WYFF 4, this special will also stream on the Very Local app. Very Local can be downloaded for free on Roku and Amazon Fire TV or on Apple or Android phones.
