Thomas & Hutton Grows Greenville Civil Design Team With New Team Members

Gary Burgess, a Clemson University graduate, brings extensive experience in civil engineering and land surveying, with a project portfolio that includes residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments, and municipal solid waste and paper mill landfill expansions. He is a licensed professional engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, and a professional land surveyor in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Alabama. Gary has also managed a surveying department for over a decade, adding leadership and operational oversight to his technical skill set. As a civil project manager, he will oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets; conduct site visits and consultant coordination; and support business development efforts throughout the Upstate region. Witt Compton, originally from Beaufort, SC, recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina. As a civil designer, Witt will assist with the preparation of site development construction drawings, engineering design for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure, and permit applications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
