Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, P.A. has announced that shareholder Matthew B. Edwards has been elected as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Officials note that becoming a member of ACTEC is one of the most respected honors in the trusts and estate field and is currently held by only just over 2,100 attorneys nationwide and worldwide. To be invited to join ACTEC, an attorney must possess a minimum of ten years of experience in trust and estate law, be widely recognized as a leader in the field, be sponsored by respected peers, and uphold the highest ethical standards in their practice. This honor is a testament to Edward’s years of dedication, expertise, and leadership in the field of trust and estate law. Officials with Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, P.A. say they are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved milestone and look forward to the continued impact Edwards will undoubtedly make.

Edwards is one of only seventeen attorneys in South Carolina who is dual certified as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law and a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law. Matt joins partner Randy E. Fisher in membership with ACTEC.

Matt received his bachelor’s degree from Furman University, his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and his Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He has practiced at Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, P.A. since 2009, and his work encompasses estate planning, probate and trust administration, business formations, business sales, mergers and acquisitions, and nonprofit matters.
