Clemson University’s Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business has introduced a new Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program, which is now accepting applications.

The launch follows formal accreditation approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges on Oct. 31.

The MSF is a 10-month, 32-credit, in-person graduate program designed for students seeking advanced preparation for careers in corporate finance, investment management, real estate analysis, corporate banking and related fields.

The degree features a technical curriculum that integrates programming, empirical methods and advanced analytical coursework, reflecting the technology-driven evolution of the finance profession.

“Clemson’s MSF program is designed to meet industry demands for workforce preparedness in alignment with our land-grant mission and the College’s commitment to engaging with the economic and professional challenges of our state and region,” said Vincent Intintoli, associate professor of finance and MSF program director. “This program gives students the technical, analytical and communication skills today’s employers expect.”

Graduates of the program will be prepared for careers such as:

Corporate Finance: financial analysis, treasury management, corporate strategy.

Investment Management: portfolio management, securities analysis, wealth management.

Banking: corporate banking, investment banking, credit analysis.

Financial Services: risk management, financial planning, consulting.

The MSF Admissions Committee will accept applicants on a rolling basis until the program reaches capacity. Students are expected to enter with an undergraduate foundation in finance, typically achieved through a major or minor.

A distinctive feature of the program is its two-semester sequence in professional development, which delivers targeted training in communication, networking, presentation skills, leadership and career strategy.

Officials say employer feedback consistently identifies these competencies as essential complements to technical expertise.

While the inaugural cohort will focus on corporate finance and investment management, the program’s structure allows for future expansion into financial planning and real estate finance as student interest and market demand evolve.

MSF students will apply classroom knowledge by managing real capital through Clemson’s Student Managed Investment Fund in the Melvin and Dollie Younts Trading Room, equipped with Bloomberg terminals.

The program is designed to be completed in 10 months. Cohorts are accepted on an annual basis, with each group entering the program Summer II and completing their studies the following Spring semester.
