Posted Tuesday, December 23, 2025 5:40 pm

Royal Security Group LLC is an independent security management and expert witness consulting firm founded by Ken Wheatley, a former FBI Agent and retired Sr. Vice President and Chief Security Officer for Sony Electronics' global operations. RSG is based in Asheville, N.C., with clients around the U.S. We assist with preventing security and operational risks and vulnerabilities that could jeopardize a company's financial and brand well-being.

"Independent" means that we are only compensated by our clients. We have no affiliations with product or service providers and receive no referral fees. Therefore, our recommendations are strictly based on what's best for our clients.

The services we provide are:

Risk and vulnerability assessments (especially for grant applications)

Site security surveys and evaluations

Supply chain security audits

Travel, Meeting or Event security planning

Review or development of crisis management or business continuity plans

Review or development of emergency plans

Delivery of workplace violence prevention or active shooter training programs.

Examination of existing company security operations (personnel, policies, procedures, etc.)

Review of vendor contracts

Independent review of audits, budgets, programs, or previously conducted assessments

Assessments are conducted by an ASIS International Board-Certified Security Consultant using methods recommended by the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC).

On the expert witness side:

Ken Wheatley is a testifying or consulting security expert witness for defense and plaintiff counsel security premises liability—negligent security, negligent training, negligent hiring, negligent supervision, or excessive force (security officers).

The following services are provided for most legal cases:

Obtaining and analyzing data
