The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Outstanding Leadership Luncheon will be Thursday, August 19th at the Thornblade Club from 11:30am to 1:00pm.

Nominations for the award are still being accepted. Please visit www.greerchamber.com to download a nomination application. Nominations can come from anyone and the requirements are that the nominee be a past graduate of Leadership Greer or Junior Leadership Greer and that they have demonstrated effective leadership and furthered the growth of the community.

"The Leadership award is an opportunity for us to recognize a graduate of the Leadership Greer program who has contributed back to the Greer community utilizing the fundamental values of the program", says Patrick Fortenberry.

The Outstanding Leadership Luncheon is designed to award and recognize a graduate of a Leadership Greer Program that has demonstrated effective leadership and furthered the growth of the community through active involvement in community/civic programs, organizations and/or activities.

Patrick Fortenberry, Chairman of the Leadership Development Council, stated, "The Outstanding Leadership Luncheon was established in order to highlight both the various leadership programs, as well as the continued accomplishments of leadership Greer graduates. Over the 30 year history of the program, many outstanding leaders have graduated and continue to contribute to the prosperity of the Greer community.²

In addition to the Award, this event, organized by the Leadership Greer Alumni Association, will serve as a kickoff for the Leadership Greer Class XXX and the official passing of the gavels to the new Chairmen of each of the Leadership Greer program Boards for 2010-2011. The mission of the Leadership Greer Alumni Association is to develop leaders for the Greater Greer Area by providing training, networking and community service opportunities for graduates of Leadership Greer and other recognizable leadership programs.
