April is co-founder of I Am Kustom Fitt, a nonprofit program that encourages youth to take charge of their future and become leaders in their community. The business management student at University of South Carolina Upstate is also founder of Words Well Chosen, LLC, which assists clients in developing and articulating their visions, plans and dreams. For six years, she was the constituent liaison for former House Member Bob Inglis. In addition to volunteering for her own initiative, I Am, a mentoring program for young women, she also has served as commissioner on the Greenville County Human Relations Board, is an active member of the United Way African American Leadership group and participates in programs such as United Way’s Speed Mentoring Outreach. She also works on the MLK 5K Unity Race, which raises money for the Lupus Foundation. April is a mentor and leader to young people and plays an integral role the solution to issues that plague our communities.
