Matt is an experienced engineer, management consultant and venture finance professional. As managing director for Upstate Carolina Angel Network, he is responsible for deal structuring for a network of more than 50 local angel investors. He is also directly responsible for finding, advising and providing investment opportunities for new, young and existing companies in Greenville and surrounding area. “His commitment to the business community is firmly rooted in UCAN and the 16 companies in which they have invested time, money and advice,” says his nominator. Matt was named one of Greenville Business Magazine’s 2011 50 Most Influential. As a community volunteer, he participated in the AJ Whittenburg School Volunteer Playground Build and has been a classroom instructor for Junior Achievement. He has served on Clemson University’s Alumni Council and currently sits on NEXT Innovation Center’s advisory board. He has an MBA from Stanford and is a lecturer in managerial economics for the Clemson at the Falls MBA program.
