Have you always dreamed of sleeping in an antique four-poster bed? Would you love a professional photo of your pet pooch? How about tickets to the Greenville Little Theatre or gift certificates to some great local restaurants?
These items and many more will be up for auction next Friday at the Fourth Annual Upstate Women’s Show at Greenville’s TD Convention Center. All proceeds from the live charity auction, conducted by WHAM Auctions, Appraisals and Real Estate, will be donated to three area charities – Safe Harbor, Harvest Hope Food Bank and the Julie Valentine Center.
Jerry Brown of WHAM will be the auctioneer for the event, which will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Corley Entertainment Stage inside the convention center. Bidders must register in advance at the WHAM table adjacent to the stage beginning one half-hour before the auction’s start to receive a bidding number. Payment must be made after the auction by cash, check or credit card.
Among the items to be auctioned are an1800’s pine poster bed, an early mahogany silver chest, an early mahogany laptop writing desk, an oak entry table, a pair of oak bedside tables, a vintage religious oil on canvas, an early porcelain chip and dip set, a Victorian-style purse music box, a Galileo thermometer, a pair of brass candlesticks and tickets to Greenville Little Theatre, Centre Stage and the Comedy Club at The Basement.
Also on the auction block are two photo shoots from Renee Carolla Photography, one night’s stay and golf at the Embassy Suites’ Preserves at Verdae, gift baskets from local merchants, wine, a cooking class, wreaths, paintings and other décor, and gift certificates from a number of businesses and restaurants, including Block House, Charlie’s Steak House, Brick Street and Flour House.
The Upstate Women’s Show takes place next weekend, August 26-28. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Adult admission is $8, or $12 for a two-day pass, and $4 for children aged 6-12.
