George Fletcher Join Transportation Museum of the World Board

Local and regional businessman George Fletcher moves from Mini World Of Trains dba Transportation Museum of the World featuring the Miniature World of Trains adviser to a  member of the museum's  Board Of Directors.

According the museum Chairman and President, Frank Ruby, "George has been a great asset for the museum over the last 2 years and will be an more effective then he has been as a member of our board. His insight has helped move the museum forward toward  our projected late 2013 opening of the Miniature World of Trains Phase I and the 2013 Christmas Model Train Display"

George joined as museum adviser in 2011 and became a member of the the Board of Directors via a unanimous vote of the museum's board. He was the first Executive Director of New Carolina in 2006 and he is currently Executive Director Emeritus. George was President of Fletcher Group, Inc, a group of  environmental management companies headquartered in Greenville. He is a  Professional Engineer registered in seven states and a Diplomat in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.   George has been an integral park over the years of the Greenville Community as as Chair of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chair (with his wife) of the Greenville County United Way Campaign, President of the American Council of Engineering Companies - SC, and District Governor for Rotary District 7750. George is a member of the SC Society of Professional Engineers as their 1999 SC Engineer of the year and was the Greenville Magazine's 2000 Business Person of the Year. An inductee at Clemson University Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Scientists, George is also on the committee for the the rehabilitation of the Roper Mountain Science Center.
