The law firm of Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A. is pleased to announce that Arthur L. Howson, Jr. has been selected by his peers to receive the 2012 Tommy Thomason Award, which is given annually by the Greenville County Bar Association (GCBA).
The Tommy Thomason Award is given to an attorney who displays the qualities of compassion, optimism, diplomacy, public service, justice, and integrity throughout his or her legal career.
Howson, who is a Shareholder at GWB with 36 years of experience, focuses his practice on corporate and business transactions, commercial real estate transactions, and banking and financial transactions. He is listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate law.
Howson is also heavily involved in the community as a past president of Senior Action, Greenville Chorale, and Greenville Friends of the Zoo, as well as a member of Advantage Greenville and the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
The GCBA was established in the early 1960’s with the mission of advancing the business and professional interests of attorneys in Greenville County, South Carolina. Tommy Thomason was a distinguished member of the Greenville Bar who practiced law for more than 40 years. In 1993, the association established the Tommy Thomason Award to honor a Greenville lawyer who best epitomized the highly regarded character, values, and integrity of Thomason.
