Miracle Hill Ministries is a Christian 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides a safety net for homeless men, women and children of the Upstate and equips them with the basics for life. We were organized in 1937 by a group of Greenville citizens who were concerned about the homeless and transient population in the area. We've now grown to be a significant provider of services to the homeless in South Carolina, with facilities in Greenville, Spartanburg, Cherokee and Pickens counties:
• Miracle Hill Shepherd's Gate (women and children)
• Miracle Hill Boys' Shelter
• Miracle Hill Overcomers and Renewal Centers (addiction recovery)
• Miracle Hill Transitional Housing
• Miracle Hill Relief Ministry (food)
• Miracle Hill Children's Home
• Miracle Hill Thrift Operations & Auto Sales
• Miracle Hill Foster Homes
• Miracle Hill Rescue Missions in Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties
We are continuing to reach out to over 600 hurting people every day — even more during cold weather. Last year we helped 8,059 different individuals, served 314,447 meals, and provided 167,761 regular beds. We helped 116 children through the foster care program; 26 were reunited with their families and 11 were adopted by Miracle Hill foster families. We are working on expanding our foster care program three-fold in order to meet the increasing needs in our area.
Miracle Hill currently holds a 4-star overall rating — the highest rating possible — by Charity Navigator, demonstrating our strong organizational efficiency and sustainability. Though we are exceedingly grateful for such accolades, we take most pride in our staff and residents — those who were placed in painful circumstances but have now found freedom to live in restoration.
All that we do, however, could not be possible without donations from our supporters. Reid Lehman, CEO of Miracle Hill, asserts, "All of us have a personal responsibility to help those that are less fortunate. Your decision is not whether you have the responsibility, but who you will serve and how."
