Greenville, SC – Dr. Ronald Wilson and his dental practice, Greenville Smiles Family Dentistry, set a goal to help end hunger for Upstate families in need during the 2011 holidays. Between October 20 and December 31, 2011, Greenville Smiles Family Dentistry raised $1,230.00 for Harvest Hope Food Bank in Greenville by donating a percentage of the office visit cost from every new patient seen in the office. Greenville Smiles also donated approximately 340 food items to the cause by matching donations brought in by their patients who gave generously throughout the food drive.
According to Harvest Hope's website, a donation of $15 will feed a family for a whole week. Dr. Wilson and his office are ecstatic to have contributed to over 80 hungry families with this initiative.
"We wanted to do something this year that could help make our community better, so creating a food drive for Harvest Hope seemed like the perfect gift," says Dr. Ronald Wilson. "We want to do our part to make sure everyone has something to smile about, and we're thrilled the food drive worked so well!"
