Greenville, SC (Grassroots Newswire) February 1, 2012 – SYNERGY HomeCare, national non-medical home care franchisor, is proud to announce the opening of its newest location in Greenville, SC. Owned and operated by Bill and Pam Nelson, the company will provide 24-hour care to residents of Greenville and its surrounding communities.

SYNERGY HomeCare is partnering with a local Greenville Health System to control hospital readmissions from the non-medical home care perspective. The Hospital Readmission Prevention Program focuses on the major reasons for hospital readmission and takes the requisite measures to control them from a non-medical standpoint.

SYNERGY HomeCare provides a myriad of services and programs in addition to the Readmission Prevention. The services are designed to allow clients to stay in their own homes whether they have been hospitalized or not. To those ends the following are just a few of the services provided: observing for changes, obtaining vital signs, providing personal care, shopping, transportation, housekeeping, etc.

SYNERGY HomeCare also focuses on those with special needs resulting from Alzheimer’s, memory loss, Parkinson's, dementia, cardiac/heart, cancer, new moms, etc. We are there any time there is a need to care for you or a loved one.

“We believe strongly that everyone deserves the right to have assistance available and to have respite from the extraordinary demands of caring for a loved one”, says Nelson.

Nelson, whose background is in transportation, became a primary caregiver for his wife after she underwent a liver transplant for a genetic disorder. He had to assume all the caregiving responsibility in spite of his wife’s 30+ years as a registered nurse. As a result he realized how much of a need there was to assist individuals when they or a loved one are unable to meet their own personal care needs. After his wife recovered from both the transplant and organ rejection, Nelson decided to open a SYNERGY HomeCare franchise because he wanted to ensure that others in need would have the services available. He really wants to make a difference in the Greenville community.

The Greenville location is currently searching for compassionate, outgoing, reliable individuals to employ as professional caregivers. The company currently has a bench of 15 caregivers and wants to expand that number to 30.

“Since home care is a 24-hour business, we need to fill shifts round-the-clock”, says Bill Nelson. “We are taking applications and conducting interviews and look forward to hiring many caring people.”
