Feed & Seed gratefully announces the support of Greenville Women Giving in the form of a grant award of $34,800 to help fund the hiring of a Field Services Coordinator. Greenville Women Giving announced and gave the granted funds at its May 9 annual meeting.

The new Field Services Coordinator will add great efficiency to the process of providing commercial access to seasonal farm products in the Upstate. This grant, combined with other local giving, allows Feed & Seed to coordinate production across scores of farms, with the demands of institutional and restaurant buyers seeking stability, reliability and qualities previously difficult to attain in the region.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the membership of Greenville Women Giving. From educational presentations, to catering events with all-local ingredients, to supporting other non-profits in their missions to preserve and enhance food-access in the Upstate, Feed & Seed is grateful beyond measure to be honored with this generous and thoughtful award,” said Mike McGirr, Executive Director of Feed & Seed.

Greenville Women Giving is a philanthropic organization serving Greenville County, S.C., and was founded on the idea that women, when informed about philanthropy and the needs in their community, can collectively make a real difference. Founded in 2006, GWG has donated $4.8 million in total grant funding since 2007.
