Global media company Forbes Magazine has ranked Greenville Federal Credit Union second overall in its 2019 America’s Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions list for South Carolina.
This was Forbes’ second year surveying for the Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions. To compile the list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista, which surveyed more than 25,000 customers across the country to gather opinions on their current and former banking relationships.
Forbes said that the banks and credit unions were rated and scored on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as five additional factors: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice.
“Greenville Federal Credit Union has always prioritized our members’ needs above anything else. It is the basis for every decision we make – from the financial products and services we offer to how we run our operations and train our staff,” Paul Hughes, president and CEO of Greenville Federal Credit Union. “Finding our credit union ranked within this prestigious list of the top credit unions and banks in the nation is a pleasant surprise and an affirmation that we are fulfilling our mission.”
Nationwide, overall scores ranged from 57.2 to 96.2. South Carolina was particularly competitive this year for credit unions. Greenville Federal Credit Union, the smallest credit union in the top five of South Carolina, ranked second with a score of 93.08. According to Statista, this strong performance would have earned the credit union the top spot in almost any of the other states.
“We are proud to be among this group of large and worthy credit unions in South Carolina. I’d like to thank our members for their continued support and loyalty, and our employees for all they do every day to provide outstanding service,” said Hughes.
