U.S. Waffle Company Launching New Pickens County Facility

U.S. Waffle Company has announced plans to launch a new frozen food processing facility in Pickens County. The company's $22.1 million investment is projected to create approximately 114 new jobs.

Founded in 2013 by industry-experienced food production experts, U.S. Waffle Company, Inc. is a privately-held organization headquartered in South Carolina. Utilizing fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment, the company manufactures many national brands and private-label products for worldwide distribution.

U.S. Waffle Company will be relocating existing operations and adding new production lines by moving into an existing, 310,000-square-foot facility at the intersection of Highway 123 and Highway 178 in Liberty, S.C. This new facility will be producing frozen pancakes and waffles for a variety of retailers and restaurants. Including the 114 new jobs, there will be approximately 350 total employees at the Liberty facility. The new plant is expected to come online in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $200,000 Set Aside grant to Pickens County to assist with costs associated with the project.

"We're excited for our new Pickens County facility to come online, as it will allow our team to continue providing high-quality products to our customers," said John Symons, CEO of U.S. Waffle Company. "We'd like to thank our local and state partners for their continued support, and we look forward to joining the Pickens County business community."
