Team members at the CresCom Bank branches in Greer, Taylors, and Greenville donated nearly $29,000 to local nonprofits and organizations in 2018. Five years ago, Upstate bank team members rallied together to create a foundation to lead their own annual charitable giving effort – the CresCom Foundation. Through this foundation, bank employees made a commitment to personally donate their own money to benefit select local charities each year. The vision statement for the foundation states: “A community-driven team who invests their time, talents, and resources to positively impact our community. Simply put - The CresCom Bank Foundation seeks to make a difference in the lives of others where we live, work, and play.”

The donations will help afterschool programs for children in need, deliver care providers for children and adults with special needs, offer housing and assistance to obtain work for men who are in need, help hunger prevention, and benefit medical services for women and those in need.

The CresCom Bank Foundation is made up of the Upstate branch team members that are personally invested in making a difference in their community. Each year, the foundation hosts an application process where local charities can express their mission and request a donation to fulfill certain needs. The foundation board, which is made up of CresCom Bank team members, reviews the applications and selects the benefiting charities. Along with the financial assistance that is provided by the foundation, team members are encouraged to volunteer with those organizations. During the team member campaign that is held each year, organizations that have been supported in the past have an opportunity to share their mission with the CresCom Team to entice and enhance community involvement even more.

“The CresCom Bank Foundation purpose is to improve the quality of life in our community. It’s a heartfelt initiative that the Upstate branch team members have taken upon themselves along with the support of the CresCom Bank leadership,” said April Staggs, CresCom Bank team member and board director of the CresCom Foundation. “Each year, we select local charities and team members set personal goals in order to raise as much money as possible to fulfill the donation requests. It is an incredible effort among our fellow Team Members and we are grateful to be able to give back to programs that help serve our neighbors in need.”
