“Our Board conducted a national search for our next leader, and we couldn’t be more pleased to select Bill Tiller as our new president and CEO,” says Doug Porter, Chairman of the PBTF Board of Directors.  “He has a consistent track record of capacity building, improving mission effectiveness, and enhancing development activities across a broad spectrum of leading nonprofits. A native of South Carolina and committed advocate for children, Tiller led Make-A-Wish South Carolina as CEO since 2014.

Tiller’s credentials, skills, and collaborative approach to leadership will be critical in winning the fight against childhood brain tumors. As President and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina, Tiller was responsible for directing operations and ensuring the chapter was positioned to effectively achieve its stated mission, goals, and objectives. In three years, he tripled the chapter’s total public support, was awarded Make-A-Wish America’s Rising Star Award, and was recognized each year with Fundraising Achievement and Wish Achievement awards by Make-A-Wish America.

Prior to Make-A-Wish South Carolina, Tiller served in key development positions at the Meyer Center for Children in Greenville, Presbyterian College, and the Thornwell Home for Children. He also led the United Way of Laurens County as Executive Director.

Tiller was appointed following a thorough and thoughtful process led by the Board of Directors’ search committee with support from Diversified Search, an executive search firm in Philadelphia. Prior to assuming his duties on Feb. 4, he was welcomed by the childhood brain tumor community at the PBTF’s recent Volunteer Leadership Conference.
