SYNNEX Share the Magic, a charitable fundraising initiative created in 2011 by Peter Larocque, president of North American Technology Solutions for SYNNEX Corporation, announced that more than $10 million has been raised over the past eight years for four Upstate children’s charities. Beneficiaries of SYNNEX Share the Magic include: A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Make-A-Wish South Carolina, and Pendleton Place.
“SYNNEX Corporation is proud of how our associates and business partners, along with local organizations and individuals, have united in the spirit of charitable giving to make significant changes in young lives within our community through these four highly deserving charities,” said Larocque. “It takes an extremely dedicated, hard-working team to raise this amount of money year after year.”
With the help of SYNNEX Share the Magic:
- A Child’s Haven opened an additional classroom providing the opportunity to treat 13 additional children daily and provide nearly 13,000 hours of group therapy each year.
A Child’s Haven provides therapeutic intervention and prevention services for developmentally delayed, abused and neglected children ages 12 weeks to 5 years in Greenville County. The organization is dedicated to transforming the lives of these young children and providing support and education for their families. They provide hope to families in challenging situations and give them the tools they need to look beyond their current circumstances to a brighter future.
- Clement’s Kindness has been able to transform the level of care of pediatric oncology and hematology patients across the Upstate because of the leadership and vision of SYNNEX and the support of their employees, associates, vendors and customers. Additionally, they have been able to provide nearly $500,000 in emergency financial assistance to hundreds of families who are unable to work while they care for their sick child.
Clement's Kindness Fund for the Children helps address the medical, psychological, social, emotional, and financial needs of Upstate families impacted by pediatric cancer and serious blood disorders. The fund also provides financial support to the BI-LO Charities Children's Cancer Center and the Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Center AYA Program, which directly impacts the patients and their families.
- Make-A-Wish South Carolina granted 207 wishes this past year, the most in their 35-year history. Wishes provide wish kids with hope, renewed energy and strength - aiding them in facing their conditions and in healing. The transformational experience of a wish also unites communities and brings families closer together.
As one of 62 Make-A-Wish chapters across the U.S., the South Carolina chapter has been granting wishes for local kids with life-threatening medical conditions since 1984. The chapter has never turned away a qualified child.
- Pendleton Place provided trauma-informed residential care to more than 250 children along with the healthcare and independent living support needed to live healthy, successful lives after foster care.
Pendleton Place offers programs that protect, equip, and heal vulnerable children, young adults, and families. Pendleton Place strengthens children while rebuilding families. It is their goal for each child to have a stable home environment and a bright future.
