The Workforce Data Collaborative is surveying employers and employees in the SCTAC/Donaldson area to identify barriers to workforce participation and career progression. The survey will be available until November 16, 2018 and results will be shared with business leaders and policymakers to inform solutions.

Area organizations formed the Workforce Data Collaborative (WDC) in April of 2018 to conduct the research critical to advancing Greenville’s economic development. Partnering organizations include Greenville Chamber, Greenville Area Development Corporation, Appalachian Council of Governments, and SC Works of the Greater Upstate.

The WDC identified four major barriers to employment and career progression, including transportation, child care, affordable housing, and criminal records. The SCTAC/Donaldson Area survey will focus on each of these key areas. The analysis will be shared with business leaders and policymakers to inform administrative, regulatory, or policy changes to enhance workforce participation and availability.

The first phase of data collection covered the downtown area (29601) and included a transportation-focused survey. The WDC recently concluded a survey of the Brookfield/Mauldin area. Those results are currently being analyzed and will be presented to the public on November 9, 2018 at 10:00am at the Mauldin Cultural Center.
