Sep 26, 2018 09:34AM ● By Kathleen Maris
WYFF 4 partnered with the Upstate South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross for the “4 Hurricane Relief” telethon all day Friday, Sept. 21. From this 14-hour event, $134,939 was donated to help victims impacted by the devastation left behind by Hurricane Florence.

“The outpouring of support we received from our community was amazing,” said John Humphries, president and general manager. “Every donation matters and will go to help our fellow Carolinians hit so hard by Hurricane Florence. Once again, our viewers have shown their wonderful generosity and willingness to help others in need.”

Phones at the American Red Cross chapter in Greenville began ringing at 5 a.m. and continued until 7 p.m. on Friday. WYFF News 4 had live cut-ins throughout the day and during newscasts with anchors Geoff Hart and Jane Robelot leading the telethon coverage.

WYFF 4 thanks everyone for the outstanding response to those in need. Contributions will continue to be accepted to assist with Red Cross relief efforts. Donations can be made by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 for a $10 donation. For online donations, go to WYFF4.com or redcross.org/donate.
