Furman University received high marks for its politically active students and the accessibility of its professors in the most recent edition of The Princeton Review’s college guide, “The Best 384 Colleges.”

Furman was ranked No. 4 for “Most Politically Active Students” and No. 17 for “Most Accessible Professors.” The university also ranked 17th in the category of “Most Active Student Government.”

The college guide, which lists the nation’s 384 best institutions for undergraduate education, was released on Monday. The guide has detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores in eight categories as well as ranking lists of top 20 schools in 62 categories. The 2019 rankings are based on surveys of 138,000 students at the 384 schools.

Furman was also included in two other prominent Princeton Review publications during the 2017-18 school year.

The university was listed in the 2017 edition of “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck.” That publication also ranked Furman among the nation’s top 25 schools in the special category of “Best Schools for Making an Impact.”

And Furman was ranked among the “Top 50 Green Colleges” in the most recent edition of the “Guide to 375 Green Colleges.”
