Coffee Shop, Apparel Brand Partner For New Retail Concept

Jul 20, 2018 12:34PM ● By Kathleen Maris

Greenville coffee shop and coffee roaster Methodical Coffee will partner with The Landmark Project, Greenville’s art-forward, outdoor-oriented apparel brand, to open Methodical in Landmark. The combination café/retail shop will open in the North Main area at Stone’s Point, 207 Wade Hampton Boulevard, this fall.

The collaboration between the two youthful hometown brands will result in a shared space featuring a café and a well-merchandised retail concept, a modern take on a general store. Methodical will provide its full coffee and tea service, including espressos and cold brew on tap, in addition to serving pastries, sandwiches, and gourmet milkshakes featuring cult ice cream brand, Jeni’s. Methodical’s branded products such as coffee beans, tee shirts, hats, tumblers, stickers, and pins will also be offered in addition to outdoor-themed products co-created with Landmark.

Landmark will retail its extensive line of tee shirts, hats, patches, and stationery, in addition to a selection of outdoor lifestyle products like pocket knives, grooming kits, and soaps, plus top-quality outdoor merchandise like Tenkara fly-fishing rods and thermoses from heritage brand Stanley. Landmark is known for its graphic tees featuring iconic locations like Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Rocky Mountain National Parks.

The 1,700-square-foot shared space will have an outdoor-inspired look and color palette. Methodical in Landmark’s café will have space for about 30 people, utilizing comfortable lounge seating and tables and chairs, with design touches like marble countertops and brass fixtures.

“We won’t be replicating our downtown location - this is just another expression of our brand,” says Marco Suarez, who is one of Methodical’s co-owners along with Will Shurtz and David Baker. Baker, who is also head of sales at Landmark, adds, “This is the next evolution of the space which The Landmark Project has leased at Stone’s Point for years. Our Landmark partners, owners Matt and Jen Moreau, are also thrilled that, together, we can all finally realize our shared vision. This partnership with Methodical was an exciting way for both companies to take our brands to the next level.”

Methodical in Landmark’s neighbors at Stone’s Point are Billiam Jeans, Urban Digs, and The Community Tap.
