Bon Secours Health System has received the 2018 Gallup Great Workplace Award, which honors organizations dedicated to optimizing employee engagement as a fundamental foundation of their business. It is Bon Secours’ seventh consecutive year receiving this award.

“Ministry leadership formation, workforce planning, talent management, and education are strategic priorities at Bon Secours that help us grow and sustain our culture of engagement,” said Gloria Goins, chief diversity and inclusion officer. “We are honored Gallup has recognized Bon Secours for the seventh consecutive year for our efforts to create a highly engaged, diverse, and inclusive workplace.”

Bon Secours was among 39 organizations from around the globe to receive the Gallup Great Workplace Award. To be eligible, organizations must administer Gallup’s employee engagement survey, demonstrate how their engagement approach improves performance outcomes, and demonstrate success in Gallup’s nine performance outcomes: customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, patient safety, and quality outcomes.

According to Gallup, only 15 percent of employees are engaged worldwide. The engagement level among Gallup Great Workplace Award winners is 70 percent. On average, Gallup Great Workplace Award Winners have 14 engaged employees for every one actively disengaged employee—nearly seven times the rate in the U.S. and more than 15 times the global average.

“Bon Secours continues to implement innovative learning and development programs in order to develop mission-focused, highly proficient, and engaged leaders who drive business success,” said Goins. “Our employees feel good about their jobs when they can provide excellent care for their patients and residents in alignment with the mission and ministry of our organization.”
