9Round, a kickboxing fitness franchise, recently opened its 600th location worldwide. The milestone location at 196 Manning Crossing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is locally owned and operated by Sylvia Jasmin. 9Round opened more than 150 new locations in 2017 and expanded into four new countries: Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Costa Rica.

“My wife and I started 9Round nine years ago in Greenville with the goal of bringing convenient, fun and specialized kickboxing training to people around the world,” said Shannon Hudson, founder and CEO of 9Round. “Today, 9Round has grown to over 600 locations in 41 states and 13 countries. We are so proud of this major accomplishment and everything that our entire team has achieved in 2017.”

Developed by Hudson, former IKF Light Middleweight Kickboxing Champion of the World, 9Round workouts consist of nine three-minute stations of activities that include cardio, weight training, core exercises, and kicks and punches on 100-pound, double-end, upper cut, and speed bags. A boxing bell rings to begin the workout, another to warn the station is ending, and a third to signal the end. Members have a 30-second active break between rounds.

Hudson added, “In 2018, we hope to open a record of number of locations, expand into more countries, and continue to grow and evolve the 9Round brand.”
