United Community Bank Ice on Main Celebrates Season Opening

United Community Bank Ice on Main celebrated the opening of its seventh season today. At 4:00 p.m., United Community Bank’s Greenville County President Michelle Seaver joined Mayor Knox White in the ceremonial “ringing of the bells” to formally open the rink for the season. The Greenville Figure Skating Club and St. Anthony’s Children’s Choir performed, and several favorite local mascots were on hand for the occasion. 

 “Since its inception, United Community Bank Ice on Main has been a celebrated Greenville tradition, welcoming more than 86,000 skaters over the past six years,” said Mayor Knox White. “We are excited to commence our seventh season and are fortunate to have community partners who help make United Community Bank Ice on Main such a success. For many, today’s Opening Ceremony marks the beginning of the holiday season in downtown Greenville.”

  United Community Bank Ice on Main is located next to Greenville City Hall on the Village Green at Main@Broad, 206 S. Main St., and is open from Nov. 17, 2017 through Jan. 15, 2018. Skate rentals are $10 for adults and children, although some discounts are available to skaters on specific days. A full event schedule is available oniceonmain.com.

 United Community Bank is excited to bring back “Skate United” nights again this season. Every Tuesday night, except Dec. 26 and Jan. 7, all skaters can skate for $5. United Community Bank will also offer commemorative gloves and socks for purchase at the rink, with purchase proceeds benefitingRonald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas.
