BorgWarner Inc., a global leader in clean and efficient technology solutions for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles, is expanding its operations in Oconee County. The $71.9 million investment is projected to create more than 160 new jobs.

As one of the top suppliers for the global automotive industry, BorgWarner operates 62 facilities in 17 countries, employing approximately 27,000 associates worldwide. With a diverse customer base, the company serves a variety of markets, including the passenger car and light truck, commercial vehicle, off-highway, construction, and agricultural markets.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. An $850,000 grant was also awarded to Oconee County to assist with the costs of building construction and other infrastructure improvements.

"Through their strong commitment to quality, our employees in Seneca have built BorgWarner's outstanding reputation as a premier transfer case supplier," said BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems President and General Manager Dr. Stefan Demmerle. "We are proud to contribute to the local economy with our continued expansion in South Carolina."
