Furman University will present a program about the global refugee crisis Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Burgiss Theater in the Trone Student Center on campus.

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Refugee Task Force, the Shucker Leadership Institute, and Furman Departments of Religion and English.

The program, “Refugees Past & Present,” features a historical reflection on the global refugee crisis presented by Furman English professor Melinda Menzer; a refugee resettlement “crash course” conducted by Furman senior Caroline Reed, who interned at World Relief Atlanta last summer in refugee resettlement; and a five-member panel discussion led by student interns involved in refugee relief worldwide.
